List of Wii Interactive Games

The Nintendo Wii came onto the video game console market in late 2006. Since then, it has become a popular console for families because of the wide array of family-friendly titles. The Wii features new technology that allows players to become more like a part of the game. This is achieved through the use of the wireless Wiimote controller, turning players' actions into on-screen movements for certain titles.
  1. Wii Fit

    • Wii Fit promotes health and fitness in players by helping to train them. This video game helps people break into the habit of exercising in a fun and exciting way. The game features a balance board that doubles as a scale. Players create a profile with their weight, body mass index or BMI, height and age. The game then compiles this information, plus the results of a balance test, to calculate your Wii Fit Age. The game offers four exercise categories to pick from: Strength Training, Aerobics, Yoga, and Balance Games. The more you work within a category, the more Fit Credits you earn as you improve. These Fit Credits are used to unlock additional fitness challenges. Wii Fit tracks your fitness progress to help with weight loss and getting into shape.

    Wii Sports

    • Wii Sports lets players choose between tennis, golf, bowling, baseball and boxing. The Wiimote acts as a makeshift sports instrument depending upon the game, such as a racket in tennis or a club for golf. Players mimic the action of whatever sport they're playing, with the action being re-created within the game. As players progress in skill, their on-screen representative, known as a Mii, advances in level. This game lets families play these sports together, rain or shine.

    Punch-Out!!

    • Nintendo NES's Punch-Out!! remains a fan favorite, despite the title being more than 20 years old. With the release of a new console system, Nintendo decided to update this title, releasing Punch-Out!! for the Wii in 2009. The Wii version of Punch-Out!! follows a similar story as the original, with a New York boxer battling his way through opponents. With the Wii's new interactive technology, players assume the role of Little Mac. To hit opponents, the player mimics punching motions that are played out by Little Mac on the screen. Players battle 13 different boxers in this game while trying to become champion.

    The Beatles: Rock Band

    • EA Games produces several different Rock Band titles for various consoles, but the release of The Beatles: Rock Band drew more fanfare than many other titles. In The Beatles: Rock Band, players take on the roles of the Fab Four. Players drum, play guitar and bass and sing their way through different Beatles tunes. This version of Rock Band features new technology that challenges players to harmonize their voices for extra points. In addition to the interactive music playing, players are treated to rare audio tracks and never-before-seen photos of the Beatles.
