Things You'll Need
Instructions
Plug a computer into the network router using an Ethernet cable and plug the other end into one of the numbered ports on the back of the router. Note that if your computer is already set-up on the network and has Internet access, you don't need to physically connect to the router using the Ethernet cable.
Open a web browser.
In the browser address bar, enter the default IP address for your brand of router. Every company uses a different set of numbers, so check on the manufacturer website for the correct IP. Linksys routers use "http://192.168.1.1," for example, while Belkin routers use "192.168.2.1" for the default IP.
Enter the admin and password at the prompt. Each manufacturer uses a different default password and admin ID, and often they are meant to be left blank. Check on the default password list for the correct router passwords.
Navigate to the wireless security settings on your router IP address. You will be able to change all of your router settings including security measures from this page.
Locate the WEP settings from the security window. There might be up to four WEP keys listed, but only the key in slot number 1 will work for the Wii.
Write the key down and enter in the Wii network setup. You must use the actual key and not the passphrase.
