Word Games for the Wii

Word games can be fun and educational for both adults and children. Of the many types of video games that exist for the Nintendo Wii Console, word games are a different kind of experience than action or role-playing games. Instead of depending on reflexes and combat strategy, word games give you the chance to improve yourself within a game and in your daily life. Your communication with others may even be improved by word games. While word games for the Wii are less common than the standard action or role-playing games, there is still a nice selection available.
  1. My Word Coach

    • Ubisoft's My Word Coach, released in 2007, challenges gamers to expand their vocabulary with training exercises for single players and games for multiple players. To aid you in learning to express yourself, the game pulls from several sources like the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary to provide a comprehensive guide to vocabulary and learning. My Word Coach features four different coach characters to learn from. The game is also available on the Nintendo DS and iPhone. A player can connect his progress with the Nintendo DS version of the game, as well.

    Margot's Word Brain

    • As a student of the fictional character Margot, players can solve puzzles and games while gaining word knowledge in the process. Margot's Word Brain was released in 2008 on the Nintendo Wii console and Nintendo DS. Rated "E" for everyone, the game challenges vocabulary and spelling skills. Players must unscramble words and encounter games that never repeat themselves in content. The game maintains your scores so that you may see your progression and rate yourself against fellow gamers.

    WordJong Party

    • Attempt to create words with tiled letters in WordJong Party. Developed by Destineer, WordJong Party puts a different spin on the classic game Mahjong. The game, released in 2008, can be played in single player or multiplayer mode. Using Daily Mode, players can encounter word challenges every day to progress in the game. In another mode, you can encounter word challenges as you move up to the top of the fictional Zodiac Mountain. Rated "E" for everyone, the game does not attempt to cater to children or adults specifically.
