How to Download Music Onto the Nintendo Wii

You can download and listen to your own music on the Nintendo Wii by using an online music service, which will transmit the music of your choice through the Wii's Internet browser and into the speakers of the TV or stereo system that is attached to the Wii.

Instructions

  1. Putting Your Music On The Online Music Service

      Go to an online music service for the Wii website, for example, the MP3 Tunes website (see the link in Resources). Click on the "Sign up" link on the webpage.

      Enter your email address, password and the password again in the appropriate text fields in the new web page that appears. Click the "Terms of Services agreement" button. Click the "Submit" button to sign up for the online music service.

      Click on the "Login" link at the top of the web page. Enter your email address and password into the appropriate text fields of the drop down box. Click the "Login" button to go to your Profiles page.

      Select the "Upload files" button. Navigate in the window that appears to your computer's hard drive.

      Select a music file by clicking on it with the mouse, or select several files by holding down the "Shift" key while clicking on each music file with the mouse.

      Click the "Open" button on the window to close the window.

      Wait as your music files are uploaded to the online music service's server and stored in your personal storage area.

    Accessing Your Music On The Wii

      Turn on the Nintendo Wii. Highlight the icon of the "Internet Channel" that is on the Home menu screen. Press the "A" button on the Wii remote.

      Highlight the "Start" button on the "Internet Channel" screen that appears. Press the "A" button on the Wii remote. Wait as the Internet web browser loads onto the screen.

      Highlight the "www" icon on the screen. Press the "A" button on the Wii remote to bring up an onscreen keypad.

      Enter "http://mp2tunes.com/wiitunes" into the text field using the Wii remote to highlight the keys of the onscreen keypad and the "A" button on the Wii remote to select the keys.

      Highlight the "OK" button on the screen. Press the "A" button on the Wii remote.

      Enter your email address and password into the text fields on the screen that appears using the onscreen keyboard and the Wii remote. Highlight the "Login" button on the screen. Press the "A" button on the Wii remote.

      Highlight a music file from the list presented on the screen that appears.

      Press the "A" button on the Wii remote to start the music file downloading and playing on your Wii.
