Unlockable Aircraft
"Heatseeker" features a number of modern jetfighters, but many need to be unlocked before you can use them: Complete mission 1.1 using the Rookie difficulty setting to unlock the T-45 GOSHAWK, complete mission 1.1. using the Ace difficulty setting to unlock the MiG-27 Flogger, complete mission 1.2 using the Pilot difficulty setting to unlock the M-27 Flogger V2, complete mission 1.2 using the Ace difficulty setting to unlock the Yak-141 Freestyle, complete mission 1.3 using the Rookie difficulty setting to unlock the F-15 Eagle V1 and the F-16 Falcon V1, complete mission 1.3 using the Ace difficulty setting to unlock the MiG-31 Foxhound V1, complete mission 2.1 using the Pilot difficulty setting to unlock the F-16 Falcon V2, complete mission 2.1 using the Ace difficulty setting to unlock the MiG-31 Foxhound V2, complete mission 2.3 using the Rookie difficulty setting to unlock the MiG-29 Fulcrum V2 and complete mission 2.3 using the Pilot difficulty setting to unlock the F-15 Eagle V2.
Bonus Unlockables
There are a couple features that need to be unlocked before they can be used in "Heatseeker." Complete the Pilot Bonus Objective during Mission 4.5 to unlock the SR-71 Blackbird. Complete the Ace Bonus Objective during Mission 4.5 to unlock the A-SLAMR secret weapon, which is usable only by the SR-71 Blackbird. These can be unlocked at the same time simply by playing the game using the Ace difficulty setting.
Mission 4.5 Tips
Mission 4.5: The Final Countdown is arguably the hardest mission in "Heatseeker." But there are certain moments during the mission when you can take advantage of a glitch that might just save your life. Whenever you are required to avoid enemy fire and simply stay alive, simply fly up as far as you can go. You will eventually leave the combat zone and the range of the enemy fighters but you will still be able to complete the mission successfully.
