How to Put Music on an SD Card From the Wii

The Nintendo Wii has a hidden menu that allows it to play MP3s. You cannot access this menu unless you first put a digital photo on a SD memory card that has been formatted by the Wii. You will need a SD card reader to accomplish this.

Instructions

      Insert the SD card into the Wii. Turn on the Wii. Wait as the Wii recognizes that there is a SD card. Click "Yes" when the screen appears asking whether you want to format the card. Turn off the Wii after the card has been formatted.

      Remove the SD card from the Wii. Insert the SD card into the slot on the SD card reader. Plug the USB cable into a USB port on the computer. Wait for the icon of the SD card to appear on the computer's desktop.

      Double-click the SD card icon on the desktop. Drag a digital photo into the "Photos" folder inside the SD card's window.

      Drag the MP3 songs that you want to listen to on the Wii from the computer's hard drive into the "Photos" folder.

      Right-click the icon of the SD card. Select "Eject" from the pop-up menu. Remove the SD card from the SD card reader. Remove the USB cable from the USB port of the computer.

      Insert the SD card into the Wii. Turn the Wii on. Select "Photo Channel" from the Home menu. Click "Start" when the "Photo Channel" screen appears.

      Click the "Digital Camera/Cell Phone" icon. Click "View."

      Click the "Choose song" button. Click an MP3 song from the list to play it.
