How to Create Wii Ware

WiiWare is an Internet-based software distribution channel for the Nintendo Wii game system. Users are able to download WiiWare games and software from the Wii Shop Channel and save them to system memory or a memory card. The WiiWare platform allows for smaller developers to develop for the Wii---however, Nintendo's program is more closed than Microsoft's XNA program. Developers have an application process to go through before they are allowed to develop for the Wii.

  Open your web browser and visit www.warioworld.com/apply/.

  Read the Terms and Conditions, then click on the link for the Developer Application Form.

  Fill out the entire application and read over the Non-Disclosure Agreement. When finished, click "Next."

  Save a copy of your application to your hard drive if you desire, then submit your application.

  If admitted to the program, you will need to buy a Nintendo Wii Development Kit. This kit can be ordered at https://www.warioworld.com/default.asp?page=/order/. You will need a login and password, which will be supplied by Nintendo once you're admitted as an Authorized Developer.
