How to Sync a Wii With Another Wii Over the Internet

The Nintendo Wii allows players to play against friends over the internet. This feature is supported only in games with online multiplayer modes. In order to play against a specific person, you must sync your consoles together using a friend code. The method to access the Wi-Fi connection mode of a game can vary slightly, but the procedures to sync two Wiis is standard from game to game.

Instructions

  Start the Nintendo Wii game on both consoles. You need to be playing the same game to sync the consoles.

  Select the Wi-Fi connection mode from the main menu. This might have a different name from one game to another. It will usually be called ̶0;Nintendo WFC̶1; or ̶0;Online Multiplayer.̶1;

  Confirm that you want to connect online when prompted. Your console will automatically connect to the Internet.

  Copy down the friend code for your console. This needs to be done for both consoles. You will either get it in a prompt when you connect online or it will be displayed on the Wi-Fi connection mode menu screen. Your friend's code does not change once you receive it even if you turn off your console.

  Give your friend code to the player using the second Wii. Get the friend code for the second Wii console from the other player.

  Select ̶0;Enter Friend Code̶1; from the menu. A keyboard will appear on the screen.

  Enter the friend code for the other console and select "OK." This needs to be done for the other console as well.

  Select a game mode with one of the consoles. A game room will appear on the other console in the friends menu.

  Select the game room from the friends menu to sync to the other Wii console.
