How to Connect a Nintendo Wii to a Router

Out of the box, the Nintendo Wii can connect to the Internet by using its built-in wireless adapter. Unlike other game consoles, there is no Ethernet port on the Wii. However, using the "Wii LAN Adapter" (sold separately), Wii users can establish a wired connection with a router. For some, wired connections are more stable and can produce quicker download speeds and better game connections.
