Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unplug the Wii from your TV.
Place the console upside-down on a flat surface and remove the stickers underneath the front of the console.
Unscrew the screws hidden under the stickers using the screwdriver included in the Wii gate kit. Set the screws aside.
Turn the console around so the bottom panel with the exhaust fan is facing you. Remove the upper-front rubber foot, which is glued to the bottom. It will come off when you pry it.
Unscrew the screw concealed behind the foot.
Turn the console around so the top panel, which conceals the Gamecube controller ports, is facing you. Open the top panel by flipping the panel down on its hinge.
Remove the upper screw on the side with the DVD port on it.
Gently wiggle and remove the front of the console by sliding it off. Unplug the wire that connects it to the motherboard, pulling on the plug itself, never on the wire.
Unclip the existing DVD gate from the front piece of the console.
Slide the replacement Wii gate piece into the front bezel in place of the original blue slot kit.
Plug the Wii Gate wire into the motherboard.
Put the front piece of the console back onto the Wii, ensuring the wire stays out of the way in its intended channel.
Put the four screws back in place in the reverse order you removed them. Install the top and bottom pair, then the two side screws.
Power on the Wii. Your new slot light will be working.
