How to Find and Setup WiFi on a Wii

The Wii is Nintendo's latest gaming console. It uses motion sensor technology to enhance the gaming experience of the various Wii games. One of the other features bundled with the Wii is its ability to connect to the Internet. With this feature you can access the Wii store, browse through websites, and even play online multiplayer games with people. In order to begin using its online capabilities you have to setup its WiFi connection settings.

      Turn on your Wii. Navigate to the "Wii" button the lower left hand side of the screen to open the "Wii Options" menu.

      Click on "Wii Settings." Then click on the right arrow to navigate to the "Wii System Settings 2" page.

      Click on the "Internet" button. Then click on "Connection Settings."

      Click on a connection setting that is listed with "None." Then click on "Wireless Connection."

      Click on the "Search for Access Point" option. Wait while the Wii console scans for any WiFi points. When the screen says, "Choose the Access Point you wish to connect to..." click on "OK" to proceed.

      Scroll through the list of available access points, then click on the WiFi signal to access it. If it contains a closed padlock symbol, a password needs to be entered before accessing it.

      Click on "Save" and "OK" to save the connection settings. Then click "OK to begin the automatic connection test.

      Wait for the connection test to complete. Once it connects, your system will search and install any available updates. Once the update progress bar is complete, your Wii console is now connected through a WiFi signal.
