Access Wii Console Settings
Turn on the Wii video game console to access the Wii Channel menu.
Press the "A" button on your Wii Remote when you move the cursor over the "Wii" button found in the bottom-left corner of the Wii Channel menu.
Access the Wii's System Settings by moving the cursor over the "Wii Settings" option and pressing the "A" button.

Click on the "Console Nickname" option under Wii System Settings 1 and give your console a unique name.
Click the "Calendar" option and change the date and time on your Wii console.
Click the "Screen" option to change the screen position, widescreen settings, television resolution and screen burn-in reduction.
Click the "Sound" option to change the Wii's sound output to Mono, Stereo or Surround.

Click the "Parental Controls" option to set a four-digit PIN code to prevent younger gamers from playing content unsuitable for them.
Click the "Sensor Bar" option to designate the sensor bar's position in relation to your television and its sensitivity.
Click the "Internet" option to change your online connection settings and view console information and user agreements.
Click the "WiiConnect24" option to turn on WiiConnect24, allowing messages about new Wii features, and turn on the standby connection to allow messages even when the Wii is off. You also can change the Wii's Disc Slot illumination to bright, dim or off.

Click the "Language" option to change the Wii's primary language to English, French or Spanish.
Click the "Country" option to change the country you reside in.
Click the "Wii System Update" option to download online system updates for the Wii console.
Click the "Format Wii System Memory" to erase all channels and saved data from your Wii console's memory.
