How to Remove the Duplicate Channels on the Wii

Your Nintendo Wii comes preloaded with Wii channels. Wii channels include Wii Ware, which are applications for your Wii, and virtual consoles, games that can be downloaded on to your Wii and played without inserting a disc. Additional Wii channels can be added, for a cost or for free, through the Wii Shop Channel. Your Wii only has slots for 47 channels, so if one gets duplicated by mistake, be sure to delete the duplicate channel to free up room for another.

  Turn your Wii console on. Use the "A" button on the Wii remote to select "Wii" in the bottom left corner of the screen.

  Move the cursor to "Data management," and use the "A" button on the Wii remote to access the Data Management Screen.

  Move the cursor over "Wii Channels," and use the "A" button on the remote to enter the Wii Channels screen.

  Select the Wii channel you wish to delete with the Wii remote.

  Choose "Erase" from the list of options that pops up to delete the channel.
