How to Play DVDs on a Nintendo Wii

  Insert your SD card into the card reader on your computer or connect it to the USB-compatible card reader and insert it into the USB port on your computer. The computer will recognize it automatically.

  Open the SD card folder and minimize it.

  Read the code on the interior circle on the back of the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess disc and note whether the code is "RVL-RZDE-0A-0" or "RVL-RZDE-0A-2." You'll need this information when you perform the hack.

  Download the Twilight Hack (the link to the Twilight Hack download is in the Resources section).

  Save the Twilight Hack on your desktop and open it.

  Download the Homebrew Channel Installer (the link is available in the Resources section). Check the box beside "The Homebrew Channel," select "Zip File" from the "Pack Type" drop-list, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Generate My Custom Pack."

  Save the Homebrew Channel Installer download on the desktop and open it.

  Copy the Twilight Hack "private" folder and the Homebrew Channel Installer "boot.dol" file to the SD card folder.

  Insert the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess disc into the Wii and turn on the system.

  Go to the Wii Saves menu by choosing "Wii Settings," "Data Management" and "Game Saves."

  Copy any Twilight Princess saves on the system to a memory card (if you want to keep them) and delete all of them from the system because the hack won't work if you don't. You can replace the saves later, if you wish.

  Remove any memory cards from the Wii and insert the SD card into the appropriate port on the console.

  Open the Wii Saves again and select the SD card tab to open the card that has the Twilight Hack and the Homebrew Channel Installer on it.

  Copy the Twilight Hack to the Wii and start the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game.

  Choose TwilightHack0 if the code on the back of the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was "RVL-RZDE-0A-0" and choose TwilightHack2 if the code was "RVL-RZDE-0A-2."

  Make Link (the game's main character) walk backwards when the game begins to start the hack. The Homebrew Channel Installer screen will appear.

  Press the "A" button to install the Hombrew Channel; once the installation completes, you'll be returned to the Wii Menu.

  Remove the SD card from the Wii and plug it into the computer.

  Open the SD card, create a folder in it called "Apps," open the Apps folder, and minimize it.

  Download MPlayer and libdi (the link for the downloads is available in the Resources section) and save them to your desktop.

  Open MPlayer and libdi and minimize them.

  Copy the "MPlayer" and "Di" folders to the Apps folder on the SD card.

  Open the "Di" folder on the SD card and rename the "installer.dol" file to "boot.dol."

  Remove the SD card from the computer and put it back in the Wii.

Playing a DVD

  Remove the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess disc.

  Select the Homebrew Channel from the Wii Menu.

  Select the "boot.dol" application and load it. The installer screen will appear.

  Choose to do a "Normal Install" and allow the installation to complete.

  Choose "Exit" to go back to the Wii Menu.

  Open the Homebrew Channel and choose MPlayer. Load the application.

  Insert a DVD into the Wii and select "DVD-Video" from the "MPlayer Wii menu" to watch the DVD.
