How to Connect Wii Remotes

The Nintendo Wii, much like the other consoles released since 2005, is operated by controllers with powerful wireless technology. Up to four controllers, called "wiimotes," can be connected this way to the Wii. Of course, because they are wireless, the connection process is slightly more complicated than plugging a cord into the console. However, Nintendo has made that process as simple as possible.

Things You'll Need

  • Two AA batteries per wiimote

Instructions

    • 1

Press the Wii's "Power" button, located at the upper right hand side of the system.

    • 2

Open the SD card slot cover on the front of the Wii. Open the battery case on the back of your wiimote.

    • 3

Press and release the sync button on your Wii. This should be the red button next to the SD card slot.

    • 4

Press and release the sync button on your wiimote. This should be the red button next to the battery slot. Wait for the LED lights on the front of the wiimote to stop blinking. Once this happens, the wiimote should be connected to the Wii. Repeat this process with any other wiimotes you have.
