How to Connect Wii to TV

The Wii is Nintendo's fourth-generation video game system, and has found its way into many households that were previously without a video game console of any kind. The Wii is "pick-up-and-play," meaning that anyone can grab a controller and have some fun--but first you will need to connect your Wii to a TV.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the Wii AV Multi Out plug into the back of the Wii. The black end of the cable will plug into a port on the back of the Wii console.

    • 2

Plug the other end of the AV Multi Out cable into your television. This end consists of a yellow video cable, a white-left-audio channel cable, and a red-right-audio channel cable. Plug these connectors into their respective color coded ports on your TV. If your TV only has one audio input, use the white connector only. Take note of which video channel on your TV you have plugged into.

    • 3

Power on your Wii and your TV, and tune your TV to the correct video channel. This can be accomplished by pressing the "TV/Video" or "Input" button on your TV's remote control. Press that button to set your TV to the video channel that you have plugged the Wii cables into. Once you have your TV tuned to the correct channel, your Wii will display. Continue setting up your Wii and syncing the controllers--in order to start playing games.
