Infinite Lives

• The Mario Brothers series is well-known to include a trick in each game that allows the player to receive an infinite number of lives. Super Mario Brothers 3 also has a secret trick that allows you to earn extra lives to your heart's content.

  This trick can be done in section 1-2 as Raccoon Mario. Go up the hill at the start of the level and jump over the horizontal pipe. Momentarily, Goombas will start to walk out of the pipe. When the third Goomba walks out, jump onto him and hold the A button to fly into the air. Use the Glide button to slowly float down and land on top of another Goomba. Continue to do this process, landing on another Goomba each time. The points that you get for landing on each monster will eventually change to extra lives. You can do this trick for as long as you want.

Level Warps

• Super Mario Brothers 3 may be a challenging game, even to the most hardcore gamer. To help you pass the various levels, you can use warp whistles if found. These whistles are hidden throughout the game and must be found the first time you attempt a stage.

  In level 1-3, crouch on the white block near the end of the stage. You will fall into the background. Run to the end of the level and you will find a secret area that holds the first whistle.

  The second whistle is in the level 1 fortress. Using the raccoon suit, you must fly to the top of the level when you find the first door. There is a hidden door on the far right that leads to a room with the item.

  The third warp whistle is located near the Hammer Brothers in level 2. Get the hammer item from the enemies and use it to destroy the block in the upper-right corner of the map. You must defeat the third Hammer Brother on the other side of the rock to earn the warp whistle.

Quick Defeat of Bowser

• Bowser the dragon is the final boss of Super Mario Brothers 3. You can use this trick to quickly defeat him and finish the game. You must be in small Mario form and run straight through the boss when he jumps in the air. If you are still large Mario, you can try to duck under him as he jumps. You must avoid his head as that is the only part that will harm you.
