Install the ̶0;Homebrew Channel̶1; onto your Nintendo Wii. See Resources for an in-depth tutorial on completing these steps. Once the ̶0;Homebrew Channel̶1; is installed, remove the SD card from your Wii and insert it into your computer.
Download the ̶0;Homebrew Browser̶1; application form WiiBrew.org. The download is free and only takes up a couple megabytes on your SD card. Make sure that the ̶0;Homebrew Browser̶1; folder is placed into the ̶0;Apps̶1; folder on the SD card.
Insert the SD card into your Wii and load the ̶0;Homebrew Channel.̶1; Click on the ̶0;Homebrew Browser̶1; and then select the ̶0;Load̶1; icon.
Press ̶0;A̶1; to proceed to the ̶0;Homebrew Browser.̶1; If a prompt appears on the screen for an upgrade, press the ̶0;B̶1; button to automatically download the upgrade to the browser. The upgrade is essential for any new applications and critical updates that affect performance of the software.
Click on the ̶0;Utilities̶1; tab of the ̶0;Homebrew Browser.̶1; If you are using an old version of the software, it may appear as the ̶0;Tools̶1; tab.
Look for Wii downgrading software. Two good options are the ̶0;ISO Downgrader̶1; and ̶0;Wii System Downloader.̶1; Click on the ̶0;Download̶1; link and wait for the download to complete.
Return to the ̶0;Homebrew Channel̶1; and load the utility software that you downloaded.
Press ̶0;A̶1; to accept the terms and start the software. Scroll down using the directional pads until you reach the ̶0;System Download̶1; choice. Choose any of the system software downloads except for the 3.4 software.
Press ̶0;A̶1; to confirm the download and then wait for the download to complete. The Wii will automatically reset once the download has completed.
Test out the new system software by using the Wii remote to select the ̶0;Menu̶1; option. Click on the ̶0;System̶1; tab and select ̶0;System Version.̶1; The version you downloaded should now appear on the screen.
