The Best Multiplayer Games for the Wii

When compared to other video game systems, the Nintendo Wii tries to provide a more interactive experience by allowing players to physically act out the actions their characters perform on-screen. Offline, up to four players can connect to one Wii to play any number of its popular multiplayer games.
  1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl

    • The third game in the series, "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" is a fast paced fighting game exclusive to the Nintendo Wii. Brawl incorporates characters from popular (and unpopular) Nintendo franchises and lets them battle against or alongside each other. Notable characters include Mario, Pikachu and Donkey Kong (among many others). Subspace Emissary is Brawl's story mode, which lets up to two players fight through the game's villains cooperatively.

    Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

    • "Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles" is "lightgun" shooter for the Nintendo Wii. Players must use the Wii Remote or any of the various gun peripherals available for the Nintendo Wii to physically simulate shooting enemies on the screen. Darkside Chronicles recreates storylines from "Resident Evil 2" through "Resident Evil 4." The usual Resident Evil creatures are present (zombies, hunters, zombie dogs, etc), as well as some resurrected bosses (such as "Nemesis" from Resident Evil 3.)

Call of Duty: World at War

    • "Call of Duty: World at War" is a war simulator that takes place during the second world war. Co-op support on the Wii is exclusive to the Wii, but is limited to a special "lightgun" style mode that allows players to only manipulate the guns while the game moves the characters forward automatically. Cooperative support allows for the additional player to drop in and out of the game at will.
