Mario Kart
As Nintendo's flagship character, Mario once again gets behind the wheel in an easy-to-learn driving game that features other characters from the Mario series. Race go-carts or motorbikes across this game's 16 tracks. Like similar games, the Wii-mote connects to a peripheral steering wheel controller that, while not necessary to play the game, adds to the fun and makes the controls easier for small hands to hold onto. When purchased new, the game comes bundled with the wheel controller.
Madagascar Kartz
Very similar to Mario Kart in nature and game play, Madagascar Racing stars the characters from Dreamworks's hit animated films. The games also feature several unlockable racers, such as Shrek or BOB from "Monsters Vs. Aliens". The game lets young racers fly around tracks in environments from the films, collecting speed power-ups and special "gifts" that can be used to slow other racers. Gamers can also collect randomly placed coconuts that add to point totals and can be used to unlock secret characters.
M&M's Kart Racing
Most children love candy, especially M&Ms, so the colorful animated characters from the chocolate candy ad campaigns are especially appealing to young gamers. Ten different racetracks are offered in this game, as players command their choice of the colored candies to drive customizable go-carts. Collect prize items placed around the tracks and enjoy the comedic banter between the competitive candy characters. This game is compatible for use with both the Wii Nunchuk and the Wii-mote.
