Preparing The SD Memory Card
Attach the USB plug of the USB memory card reader into a USB port of the PC. Insert the SD memory card into the slot on the USB memory card reader.
Download the HackMii Installer program to the PC̵7;s desktop (see the link in Resources). Double-click on the file to decompress it once it has fully downloaded.
Go to ̶0;start,̶1; ̶0;My Computer̶1; or ̶0;start,̶1; ̶0;Computer̶1; (depending upon which version of Windows you are using) and double-click on the icon of the SD memory card in the window that appears. Leave the window that has opened up to show the contents of the SD memory card open.
Right-click inside of the window and select ̶0;New folder̶1; from the pop-up window. Name the new folder ̶0;private.̶1;
Double-click on the folder that was created on the PC̵7;s desktop when you decompressed the HackMii Installer program. Highlight all of the files inside of the folder and the ̶0;boot.elf:: file using the mouse. Drag the folder and the file into the ̶0;private̶1; folder inside of the SD memory card̵7;s window.
Right-click on the icon of the SD memory card when the folder and files have been copied to the ̶0;private̶1; folder. Remove the USB plug of the USB memory card reader from the USB port of the PC. Remove the SD memory card from the USB memory card reader̵7;s slot.
Preparing The Wii
Insert the SD memory card into the memory card slot on the Wii. Turn the Wii on. Wait for the Home menu to appear on the screen.
Go to ̶0;Settings̶1; and select ̶0;Device.̶1; Click on the icon of the SD memory card. Select the HackMii Installer program from the list presented below the icon of the SD memory card. Press the ̶0;A̶1; button on the Wii remote to activate the program.
Follow the prompts to install the HackMii Installer program into the Wii̵7;s operating system. Wait for the Wii to reboot and return to the Home menu screen.
Select the ̶0;Homebrew Channel̶1; from the Wii̵7;s Home menu. Select the ̶0;Homebrew browser̶1; icon from the ̶0;Homebrew Channel̵7;s main screen. Click on ̶0;Yes̶1; if a pop-up window asks to update the ̶0;Homebrew browser.̶1;
Select the ̶0;Media̶1; icon from the web page presented by the Homebrew browser. Click on the ̶0;MPlayer CE̶1; link. Download the ̶0;MPlayer CE̶1; program to the Wii. Wait for the ̶0;MPlayer CE̶1; program to fully download and return you to the web page you were on in the Homebrew browser.
Press the ̶0;Home̶1; button on the Wii remote. Reboot the Wii. Click on the ̶0;MPlayer CE̶1; icon in the Home menu. Insert a DVD into the Wii̵7;s optical drive slot. Press the ̶0;Play̶1; button on the ̶0;MPlayer CE̶1; control panel and watch the DVD play on the screen.
