How to Play SD Card Video on the Wii

The Nintendo Wii comes with a built-in SD card reader that can be used to store game data or view the contents of the SD card. The Wii Photo Channel is a free viewing utility that allows you to look at photos and videos on your television. The Wii supports AVI and Quicktime video formats.

Instructions

      Turn the Wii on. Wait for the Wii Channel Menu to load. Insert the SD card into the "SD card slot" on the front of the Wii.

      Select the "Photo Channel" from the Wii Channel Menu.

      Select the "Digital Camera / Cell Phone" option. A list of all the compatible files on the SD will be displayed.

      Select the video you want to watch. Video files have a film icon on the thumbnail.
