How Do I Download the Internet Browser to a Nintendo Wii?

The Nintendo Wii, as with the other seventh-generation home gaming consoles, is capable of connecting to various online services. Additionally, the Wii has its own Internet browser that allows users to surf the net with their Wii and Wiimotes. This program does not come automatically with the Wii and must be purchased through the Wii store. Downloading the program is a simple procedure that can be done entirely on the Wii.

      Select the "Wii Shop" option in the Wii main menu. This option should be on the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

      Select the "Start Shopping" option in the Wii Shop main screen, then select the "Wii Channels" option.

      Select the "Internet Channel" option, then select "Yes" to agree to the download. This download should not cost any Wii points.

      Wait for the Internet channel to finish downloading, then select the "Wii" button to return to the Wii's main menu. The Internet channel should now be among the available channels.
