How Do I Get the Classic Mario Game on My Wii?

The Nintendo Wii is the Nintendo console that brings the future to the past with advanced controls and nostalgic video games. Mario, the mascot of Nintendo, single-handedly put Nintendo on the map, so the makers of Nintendo have made classic Mario video games available for the Nintendo Wii. Getting all of the classics are easy, but you have to buy them.

  Purchase your Wii points. You can purchase Wii points with your credit card on your Wii. Click on the "Add Wii Points" option from the Wii Shop Channel and click to use a credit card. You will need to provide your card number, expiration date and ZIP code. If you do not feel safe with filling out your credit card information, you can purchase redeemable gift cards from video game retailers (EB Games, GameStop, Best Buy, etc.) then fill out the information (like you would a credit card). Once you have filled out the card number, your points will be added to your account.

  Browse through the video games. Stay in the Wii Shop Channel and enter the "Virtual Console" games. You can search through these games by genre, video game console or the publisher of the game. Since most classic Mario games are adventure games, choice to browse by genre and select the "Adventure" folder.

  Purchase the game. Once you have found the Mario game you want (whether it is Super Mario 1, 2 and 3 for the NES, Super Mario World for the SNES or Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64), click to "Purchase" the game. A cute download segment of Mario jumping for boxes will follow when the download is complete. You can find your download on the Wii's main menu.
