How to Change the Wii Region

The Nintendo Wii is more than just a video game system. One of its most useful features is an ability to connect to the Internet. You can utilize the Wii̵7;s online capacity by visiting the News Channel, Virtual Console and even the Forecast Channel. However, to receive local weather, for example, you will need to correctly enter your regional settings.

Instructions

  Go to your Wii Channel Menu and select the feature for which you want to change your regional settings. For example, if you want to change the setting for the Forecast Channel, use your Wii remote to select the Forecast Channel. If you need to change the region for the Everybody Votes Channel, click that channel.

  Go to ̶0;Settings̶1; and press ̶0;A̶1; to select it.

  Go to the ̶0;Nearest Location̶1; tab and select ̶0;Change."

  Scroll to the bottom of the location list. Select ̶0;Choose from other regions.̶1;

  Choose the region nearest you after scrolling through the various regions listed. Select it with your Wii remote and press the ̶0;A̶1; button.

  Select the location nearest you from the list by pressing the ̶0;A̶1; button.

  Click ̶0;Yes̶1; when prompted. If you wan to change the settings, click ̶0;No̶1; and make the necessary adjustments.
