Two-Player Role-Playing Games for Wii

Role playing games (RPG) offer hours of deep, immersive game play. RPGs typically feature complex storylines, countless enemies to battle and hours spent gaining experience points to level up. While traditional RPGs feature turn-based combat, fantasy settings and single-play game play, that̵7;s not always the case. You̵7;ll find several RPG titles for two players to enjoy together on the Nintendo Wii.
  1. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

    • "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" breaks from the typical RPG formula with a superhero theme and fast paced combat. You̵7;ll use quick button presses and Wii Remote gestures to unleash your heroes̵7; superpowers on your foes. You and a friend control a team of four superheroes selected from a long list of Marvel favorites̵2;including Spiderman, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and more. While its fight sequences feel like a traditional beat-em-up game, "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" incorporates RPG elements in its experience system, which you̵7;ll use to level up your heroes and increase their strength, health and abilities. As you progress through the game you̵7;ll unlock new superpowers and new heroes to use on your team.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time

    • "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time" implements the Nintendo Wii̵7;s connectivity with the Nintendo DS. The two systems connect wirelessly so you can enjoy a two player RPG experience as one player uses the Wii Remote and the other uses his Nintendo DS. You̵7;ll create a custom four player party (up to four human players can play using multiple Nintendo DS systems, or the computer will fill in for any absent players) with any combination of mages, warriors and several other classes. You and your friends will battle through dungeons, defeating large monsters and gaining experience to level up and play through the game̵7;s lengthy story. The game features both local and online multiplayer.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

    • Fans of the Tales of Symphonia series should enjoy the latest reiteration. You̵7;ll play through an epic story (over 20 hours long), complete with cinematic cut scenes and thorough voice acting. While the exploration and town segments of the game are single player, you can have a friend jump in during the frequent battles. The second player can play as any of your party̵7;s four combatants during fight sequences. "Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World" also offers a new monster capturing element, where you can capture certain monsters to join your side during battles.
