Adult Games for Wii

Although the Nintendo Wii system is geared more toward younger gamers, with its most popular games being of the family-friendly variety, you'll also find a host of intelligent, high-quality games intended for mature audiences on this platform. These games are both challenging and thought provoking, appealing more to adult sensibilities.
  1. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

    • "The Darkside Chronicles" is the second game in the "Resident Evil" series to be made exclusively for the Wii. It follows the "Umbrella Chronicles" as a light gun shooter game. Fans of the "Resident Evil" saga will likely be satisfied by the "Darkside" as it delves deeper into the histories of a few of their favorite characters. The story is the most recommended element of the game. A very close second is the unique game mechanics. Utilizing the Wii remote, you guide your character through the dark nuances of the "Resident Evil" world in an off-the-wall frenzy of shooting. The shaky camera, which some may find troublesome, actually adds a bit of queasy tension to the already scary ride.

    No More Heroes

    • Many sell the Wii short by putting the graphics of its games up against those for the likes of the Xbox and PlayStation. Although graphics on the Wii platform certainly do not compare, they service their stories pretty well, and story is an area where the Wii excels. A great example of this is "No More Heroes," an amazing action game with stinging satire beneath its mesmerizing exterior. "No More Heroes" follows the exploits of Travis Touchdown, a character who gamers will easily relate to give his obsession with anime and video games. The game features an excellent soundtrack, good game mechanics, and a story that transpires in sometimes unexpected ways.

    Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

    • "Metroid Prime 3" is actually the tenth game in the highly successful "Metroid" series that began with the original Nintendo Entertainment System. There has been much evolution to game play mechanics of the game, but the same fun experienced in the originals is still evident. "Metroid Prime 3" continues in the same narrative universe as "Metroid Prime 2," which was a GameCube game, but features a highly innovative control scheme that adheres to the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. With great visuals and game play, and impressive voice performances, "Metroid Prime 3" is a wonderful game even beyond Wii standards.
