How to Reset the Wii

Knowing how to reset a Wii allows you to move quickly from video game to video game. You can reset your Nintendo Wii from your Wii Remote or on the actual system, depending on which you prefer and if your Wii Remote is actually working. Luckily, resetting your Wii from either the system or from your Wii Remote is an easy process.

Instructions

  Start playing a Wii game. In order to reset the Wii and go back to the main Wii menu, you have to be playing a video game. Click on the game you want to play and allow it to boot up. Once you are done playing the game, you can reset your Wii.

  Press the "Home" Button. Located on the Wii Remote, it is a button between the "+" and "-" button with a picture of a house on it. This will bring you to a menu that allows you to reset the video game that you are playing. You can only access this menu when you are playing a game.

  Press the button on the actual Wii. You may have to reset your Wii from the button on the system if your Wii Remote is out of batteries. Simply go up to your Wii and find the button that is nearest to the top of the system. It will be the button that is lit up. Press the button and your Wii will reset.
