The Nintendo Wii has received numerous firmware updates since its release in 2006. If you've connected your Wii to the Internet, played any games with a network component, or used the Wii Shop, your Nintendo Wii has been updated. Using the Wii menu, you can check to see what your current Wii firmware is.

Turn on the Nintendo Wii. Wait for the Wii Channel Menu to load.

Select the "Wii Options" button.

Select "Wii Settings." The Wii version number will be displayed at the top right of the screen.
