How to Change the Fire Button on the Wii

When playing a video game on the Nintendo Wii you may find the controller setup is not to your liking. Possibly the controller buttons, such as the "Fire" (or "Shoot"), are changed with a particular game so you find yourself constantly pushing the wrong button when you want to shoot. Thankfully, all Wii video games provide a series of different controller setups, so if you find one isn't working, you can easily adjust and change it to a different setting.

  Power on the Nintendo Wii and load the game you want to change the controller set up on. Once the game screen loads up press "Start."

  Select "Options" on the main menu and a series of different game play options are presented. Select "Controller." On the screen an image of the controller appears with instructions as to what each button does during game play.

  Scroll through the list of controller options. Take note to where the fire button is for the different configurations.

  Select the controller configuration where the fire button is where you like, then chose "OK." This applies the new controller configuration to the game. Close out the "Options" menu and begin playing your Nintendo Wii video game.
