How to Save Wii Games to a Console

The Nintendo Wii is like the other game consoles of its generation in that it allows for some games to be downloaded directly to the console. Classic video games, along with other software (known as "WiiWare") can be picked up in the Wii shop and then downloaded from the nearest server to the system. As long as your Wii is hooked up to the Internet, it is fairly simple to download any number of games.

  Turn on your Wii. Press "A" on your Wiimote to bypass the safety warning.

  Select "Wii Shop Channel" in the Wii's Main menu. This option is typically located in the upper right corner of the screen. Select the "Start" button to enter the channel.

  Select the "Start Shopping" button once you arrive at the Wii Shop's Recommended Titles screen. This button will be located at the bottom of the screen.

  Select the "WiiWare" option in the Wii Shop's Main menu. It will be at the top of the screen, in the center.

  Find the game you wish to download by selecting one of the search options (Most Popular, Newest Additions, by Publisher, by Game or by Title.)

  Select the game you wish to download and you will be taken to the download screen. Select the blue "Buy" button located under the game description in order to begin downloading.
  
  You may need a certain number of Wii points. If you do not have enough, you will be asked to add more through the use of your credit card or a Wii points card.

  Select "Wii System Memory" on the next screen to begin downloading.

  Wait until your game has finished downloading, then select the "Back" button in the lower left corner of your screen until you return to the Wii Shop's Main menu.

  Select "Wii Menu" to return to the Wii Main menu, where the game you have just downloaded should now appear.
