How to Hook Up My Wii to My AV Receiver

The Nintendo Wii is a console best known for its motion control system, which ushered in a whole new element of video gaming. One thing the Wii isn̵7;t known for is graphical prowess; it comes with standard composite cables. However, the Wii can use this setup to connect to any AV receiver for surround sound gaming.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the Wii̵7;s "AV out" connector of the composite cable into the Wii̵7;s AV out connection, located on the back of the console.

    • 2

Connect the yellow video RCA cable into your television̵7;s AV input.

    • 3

Connect the red and white audio RCA cables into your AV receiver, making sure they connect to the corresponding colors on the same channel. Note which channel you̵7;ve chosen.

    • 4

Turn on your AV receiver and change it to the appropriate channel as noted in Step 3.
