Mario Kart
Mario Kart might be the most popular driving game for the Wii because it appeals to younger gamers as well as their nostalgic parents. The game includes two different playing options. In "Battle" mode, drivers can play by themselves or on teams. When playing in "Battle" mode, players do not race around a track as much as they try to gather as many coins as possible in a fixed time period.
The "Vs." mode is more of a classic race mode. Racers choose a character and a car and race around the track. The player who makes it around the track first after three laps is the winner. The game can also be played against other competitors online through the Wii's Internet portal.
Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5
Those who play Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5 have a simple mission--use the battle-ready vehicle they are driving to protect the world from evil, invading forces. The game allows users to race, smash, crash and battle throughout the game.
Excitebike: World Rally
Although the first Excitebike was released in the mid-1980s, as one of the first games for play on the original Nintendo console, the game has received numerous upgrades throughout the years. The Wii version of Excitebike still allows racers to travel through crazy obstacles on their way to defeating rival racers, while providing new features as well. Players can choose from different camera angles as they play. They also can race online through the Wii's Internet connection.
Madagascar Kartz
Madagascar Kartz is a favorite among younger Wii players since it includes characters from the popular Madagascar movie franchise. Players can choose to race with Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melman or King Julian. As players race, they can rack up points by performing crazy jumps and funny flips. They also can collect power-ups along the way.
