How to Hook Up a Wii to the Internet to Play With Other People

      Make sure your modem and wireless router are powered and active.

      Turn on your Wii. Press "A" to bypass the customary safety warning.

      Click the Wii button in the lower right corner of the main menu to open the system menu.

      Click the "Wii Settings" option in the system menu.

      Click the blue arrow on the right to scroll through the system menu until you find the "Internet" option. Select it.

      Select the "Connection Settings" option and select an open connection to use.

      Select "Wireless Connection" on the next screen and select "Search for an Access Point." Wait for a list of available access points to appear.

      Select the access point representing your wireless router from the access point list. If your router is password-protected, you will be asked to enter the password on the next screen.

      Click "Save," then "OK" to save your connection settings.

      Select "OK" again after the connection has been saved to test it. Once the test is completed, your Wii will be connected to the Internet. You might need to update your system after the connection test.
