How to Save Gamecube Game Saves on the Wii

The Nintendo Wii allows you to play your Nintendo GameCube games in addition to newer Wii games. Although the GameCube discs are smaller, they will work in the Wii in the same slot as Wii games. You can save your GameCube games on the Wii if you have a GameCube memory card. You can also manipulate files in the Wii's settings if you need to copy or erase your GameCube game saves.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the slot covers on top of the Nintendo Wii console. In here, you will see slots for four GameCube controllers and two memory cards.

    • 2

Insert a memory card into a slot with the label facing toward the right. Make sure it is inserted all the way into the slot.

    • 3

Play your GameCube game and test to see if the memory card is saving properly. If inserted correctly, it should work properly as it would have in a GameCube console.

    • 4

Move, copy or erase files on the memory card by going into Wii Settings from the main Wii Menu. Select "Data Management" and then "GameCube" to access the GameCube memory cards.
