Start with the face. Your custom character has to be built from the face down. First you will have to choose your avatar's gender (male or female). After choosing your gender, you are taken to the "Rocker Maker" where you have to first name your character and their hometown. You are given many options in order to choose your characters hometown, but you can't type in your hometown if it is not shown.

Your attitude influences how your character acts while on stage and their overall demeanor. The physique option allows you to chose your character's appearance. First you have to choose your character's hair, hair color and facial expressions. There will be many choices to scroll right to left through. Then you have to choose your character's clothes style, color and shoes. If you want your character to be a rocker, you will want to scroll to the more liberal clothing. If you want your character to be more conservative then go from the t-shirt and jeans combination.
Add accessories. While creating a character you can also give your character tattoos, earrings, hats and other accessories that will complete your character's look. The tattoos are preloaded into the game, so you can not custom make them, but you can decide where you want to put them on your avatar. As for piercing, you can place them on your character's ears, nose, belly button and other places where piercings are normal. There are many hats and bandanas to choose from as well. Simply scroll through the options and select the one your want. Once you are done choosing your accessories you can go back to the main create a character menu and press "Create". When you save is complete, you can play as your character in career mode and multiplayer mode.
