Syncing Your Wiimotes
Check the remotes. If the remotes are not being picked up by the game ̵2; whether they are new or were previously recognized ̵2; you may need to sync your remotes.
Turn the Wii off and unplug it for 10 seconds. Plug the cord back in and turn the system on.
Watch for the health and safety screen to appear on your television. When it does, open the flap in the front of the Wii and hold down the red button labeled ̶0;Sync̶1; for 15 seconds. This will clear all synced remotes.
Grab the first remote you wish to sync. Open the battery cover on the back and press the small red sync button below the batteries. The lights on the front of the remote will blink for a moment and then stop.
Repeat with all remotes you wish to sync to the Wii system.
Use the Remotes Properly
Check the connection of your sensor bar plug to the back of the Wii to ensure it is secure. Make sure the sensor bar is centered below or above your television screen.
Check the batteries in the Wii remote; the batteries must be fresh for the remote to function properly. Change the batteries if necessary.
Hold the remote between 3 and 10 feet from the sensor bar; any closer or farther and the sensor will not read the remote̵7;s signal. Also check to make sure there are no objects or infrared sources of light (such as candles or fireplaces) between the remote and the sensor bar.
Clean Your Games
Clean your games if you receive errors such as ̶0;Disc could not be read.̶1; Fingerprints, dirt or dust can prevent the games from playing properly.
Dampen the corner of a soft white cloth with clean warm water.
Wipe the silver side of the disc in straight lines working outward from the inside circle. Never clean in a circular motion.
Follow your strokes with a dry area of the cloth to remove excess water from the disc. Allow the disc to dry for at least two minutes before attempting to play again.
