Position the Wii sensor bar either on top or below the television screen. Connect the Wii gaming console to a television and power the unit on. Press the "A" button on the controller to load the Wii menu.
Move the cursor over the Wii options button in the lower left hand corner of the screen using the Wii remote. Press the "A" button to load the options menu.
Move the cursor over the Wii settings box and press the "A" button to load the settings menu. From this menu you are able to adjust sensitivity of the remote, language, parental controls, Internet settings, date, sound, screen options, system memory formats and other settings by moving the cursor over the desired option and pressing the "A" button.
Customize Wii remote settings by pressing the home button in the middle of the remote to open the Wii remote settings menu. From here you are able to adjust the volume of the remote, turn the rumble feature off and on, and connect the remote to the console.
Return to the Wii menu by pressing the home button, moving the cursor over the Wii menu button and pressing "A," then answering yes when the system asks if you would like to return to the Wii menu. This updates your control settings.
