Wireless Connection
Turn on the Nintendo Wii to bring up the Wii menu. Choose the ̶0;Wii̶1; button in the bottom left corner of the menu.
Select ̶0;Wii̶1; settings. This is the large button on the right with the wrench icon.
Select the blue arrow on the right side of the screen to bring up the second screen of settings options.
Select ̶0;Internet̶1; from the settings menu. This is the third button on the second settings screen.
Choose ̶0;Connection Settings.̶1; This is the first button in the Internet menu.
Select any of the Connections with ̶0;None̶1; listed next to it.
Select ̶0;Wireless Connection,̶1; then ̶0;Search for Access Point.̶1;
Select your wireless network from the list that appears. It will take a few seconds for networks to begin to appear in the access point menu.
Enter the security code for your network if prompted. Skip this step if your wireless network is unsecured.
Select ̶0;Save̶1; and then ̶0;OK̶1; to save the connection. The Wii will automatically test the Internet connection. It will connect to the Internet automatically after that is finished.
Return to the Wii menu. Select the game disc icon to start the game. This is the top left box in the Wii menu.
Select ̶0;Online̶1; mode for the game to play over the Internet.
Wired Connection
Plug the Wii LAN adapter into the port in the back of the console. Plug the network cable into the adapter and insert the other end into your modem or network router.
Turn on the Nintendo Wii to bring up the Wii menu. Choose the ̶0;Wii̶1; button in the bottom left corner of the menu.
Select ̶0;Wii̶1; settings. This is the large button on the right with the wrench icon. Select "Internet" from the settings menu.
Select any of the three connections with "None" listed next to it. Choose to set up a "Wired Connection." The Wii will automatically check the connection through your modem or router. Once the test is complete your Wii will automatically be connected to the internet.
