How to Install a Game on the Wii

Turn on your Nintendo Wii to bring up the Wii menu.

Select the "Wii Shop" channel from the Wii menu. By default, this should be in the top right hand corner of the Wii menu. The Wii Shop channel screen will appear.

Select "Add Wii Points" from the channel menu. This is the only button in the second row of the channel menu. You can skip this step if you already have Wii points added to your console.

Choose the method you want to use to add Wii points. You will be prompted to enter the code from the back of a Wii point card if you choose that method. You will be prompted to enter credit card information if you choose to buy the points directly from Nintendo. Both methods will add points to the Wii.

Go back to the Wii shop channel and select "Virtual Console" from the menu. This is the large button on the left of the top row.

Choose how you want to browse through the Virtual Console titles. You can browse by system, genre, or title.

Select the game you want to install to your Nintendo Wii.

Choose to download the game from the menu that appears. You will need to confirm that you want to purchase the game. Wii points will automatically be deducted from your console once you confirm that you want to download the game.

Wait for the game to download completely. The amount of time this takes will vary based on your connection speed and the size of the game.

Go back to the Wii main menu. The game is now installed and ready for use. Simply select it from the Wii menu to play the game.
