How to Connect a Wii With S-Video

Nintendo's Wii gaming system uses a proprietary plug to connect to the game console, with composite audio/video cables on the other end. Connecting the Wii to a device with an S-video jack requires an adapter for the composite video plug. Adapters are available at electronics and computer stores. The audio cables for the Wii connect in the same manner to a set of RCA-type audio jacks common on almost all television sets.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the flat plug to the back of the Wii gaming console by pushing straight into the jack. The plug inserts in one direction only; do not force it into the jack.

    • 2

Insert the yellow plug on the other end of the cable into the round, yellow RCA jack on the adapter.

    • 3

Connect the S-video plug on the other end of the adapter to an S-video jack on a television, computer monitor or other video device.

    • 4

Plug the two remaining cables on the Wii into the audio jacks on a TV or other device, using the red plug for the right audio connection. The white plug inserts in the left audio connection.
