How to Find a Job in Animal Crossing: City Folk

Animal Crossing: City Folk, a game for the Nintendo Wii console system, lets you enjoy in-town events and tournaments, plus access to a city filled with fun shops, including GracieGrace. The Animal Crossing website notes that GracieGrace is an upscale furniture, clothing and accessory store. Many of the these in-game perks require payment. To start making money, you must first work for Tom Nook, who owns the town's general store and your home.

Instructions

  Start Animal Crossing: City Folk from your Wii menu by using the ̶0;A̶1; button to press the ̶0;Start̶1; button and confirm that you would like to play the game. This will prompt you to identify yourself from a list of created characters. Select ̶0;I̵7;m New̶1; to create a new character.

  Choose ̶0;Start Fresh̶1; to enter your character into town without transferring any information from an Animal Crossing: Wild Worlds account on Nintendo DS. This will allow you to enter the town without any saved information, select a home and get a job.

  Follow the in-game prompts on the bus to create your character name and verify your character̵7;s gender. View the map you are given to locate the Town Hall. The bus will drop you off in town.

  Use the Wii remote four-way control or nunchuck toggle to move your character and walk to the Town Hall. Enter the hall by pressing the ̶0;A̶1; button at the door.

  Talk to Pelly at the front desk to introduce yourself. Simply walk up to her and press the ̶0;A̶1; button. She will allow you to pick a home from the map of the town. If only one house is available, she will simply show you the location of your new home. Once your home is selected, you will be instructed to go check out your house and await Nook.

  Go to your home and enter it by pressing the ̶0;A̶1; button at the front door. Exit the home and talk to Nook, using the ̶0;A̶1; button. He will negotiate the price and purchase of your home and offer you a part-time job at his shop to help pay off your debt. Nook will ask you to introduce yourself to all of the animals in town and the mayor in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

  Introduce yourself to all of the animals by walking up to them in town. You can also visit animals in their homes. Visit the mayor in the Town Hall. Once you have made all of your introductions, report back to Nook at his shop to be given your employee uniform and start your first job.
