Connecting to the Wiimote (PC)
Verify that the system has a built-in Bluetooth chip. Open the Control Panel and look for Bluetooth settings. If there are none, connect the Bluetooth dongle to a USB slot and install any included software.
Right-click the Bluetooth icon on your PC's task tray and select "Show Bluetooth devices." The Bluetooth Devices window appears.
Click "Add," and then select "My device is set up and ready to be found," before clicking "Next."
Simultaneously press the "1" and "2" buttons on the Wiimote to put it into discovery mode. The blue LEDs on the remote will blink to indicate this.
Choose "Don't use a passkey" on the computer before clicking "Next." On the next screen, click "Finish."
Download and install a Wiimote interface program, such as Wiinremote (see Resources section of this article).
Connecting to the Wiimote (Mac)
Verify that the computer has a built-in Bluetooth chip built in. Open the System Preferences and look for a Bluetooth option. If there is none, attach the Bluetooth dongle to a USB port and install any included software.
Open System Preferences and choose the "Bluetooth" panel. Ensure that the "On"/"Off" check box is set to "On" and "Discoverable" is checked.
Download and install the Darwiin Remote program located under Resources 2. If you have a preferred Wiimote interface program, feel free to use that.
Open the program and click the "Find Wiimote" button.
Press the "1" and "2" buttons on the Wii remote simultaneously. The blue LEDs at the bottom of the device will start blinking. When the device is connected to your system, the chart will start recording information from the remote.
General Pairing Instructions
Open the Bluetooth settings. If your computer does not have this option, connect a Bluetooth dongle and install any included software.
Ensure that the Bluetooth chip on your computer is set to "On" and "Discoverable."
Click the button to "Add" a new Bluetooth device to your system.
Press the "1" and "2" buttons on the Wii remote at the same time. The LEDs on the remote will blink rapidly indicating that it is in discovery mode.
Choose the "Don't use a passkey" option when prompted by your computer.
Wait for the computer to report that the pairing was a success. The LEDs on the remote may continue to blink even though the connection is complete.
