Breeding Flowers Animal Crossing: City Folk
Get your flowers. You can either dig them up from your Animal Crossing city or you can buy seeds from the local store (owned by Mr. Nook). You can buy cosmos, pansies, tulips, roses or carnations. Most of the flowers cost 40 or 80 bells, though some of the rare flowers, such as a gold or blue rose, cost 2,500 bells. If you dig the flowers up, the breeding of flowers will be quicker because you already have the flowers. You will have to plant and raise the seeds if you bought them.
Plant the two flowers. They have to be side-by-side in order to breed them into a different flower. Once you have planted them, you have to wait a couple of "in-game" days for your flowers to breed together. Waiting will allow bees and butterflies to cross-pollinate your two flowers and breed a new flower.
Look at your new flower. If you used cosmos, the red and white will turn pink, the red and yellow will turn orange, red and red will turn to black. If you used pansies, the red and red will turn purple, the red and yellow will turn orange and the white and white will turn blue. If you used tulips, the red and white will turn pink, the red and yellow will turn purple, the red and red will turn black and the yellow and yellow will turn black as well. If you used roses, the red and white will turn pink, the red and yellow will turn orange, the white and white will turn purple, the red and red will turn black and the purple and black will turn blue. If you used carnations, it doesn't matter what two carnations you breed together--you will either get red, white or pink. With the carnations, it is purely chance.
