  Download your movie onto your PC or access it streaming through a free online movie site like Hulu or a subscription online movie site like Netflix.

  Change the format if needed. The only way to play a DVD on your Wii is to have your ripped DVD in one of the following formats: DivX, MOV, MPG or AVI. If the movie is in another format you can use a video-converting program (a popular one is Virtual Dub) to convert your DVDs for free.

  Download Wii Video for free from the shopping channel of the Wii. Click on the box that says "shopping channel" on the main menu and follow up by choosing the "downloadable content" option on the top right of the screen. Search and find Wii Video on the ensuing page.

  Buy an SD card for the Wii. If you do not have one then you can get one at most major retailers. Four gigabytes is a good sized SD card to get, this will allow you to save several movies to watch on your Wii on the same card.

  Insert the card into your PC. Once you have put your SD card into your computer, you can copy and paste your DVD files onto the SD Card. Once the DVDs have fully transferred, place the SD card into the Wii.

  Turn on your Nintendo Wii. Turn the setting to "photo channel" and open the SD card on your Wii. Click on the movie you want to watch and enjoy.
