How to Open Wii Screenshot BIN Files on a Computer

Some games for Nintendo's Wii gaming system allow you to take screenshots while playing so that you can share with friends. The Wii stores these screenshots on an SD card, which is not included with the system, but quite inexpensive. You can remove it from the Wii and insert in most newer computers. The problem is that Wii screenshots are stored as BIN files, not a standard image file format, so you'll need to convert them before sharing.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your web browser and go to Exophase.com/files/Wii/bin2jpg.zip. Download Bin2Jpg, a free file conversion utility. Extract the compressed files to their own folder.

    • 2

Turn off the Wii and remove the SD card from the slot on the front of the console. Insert the SD card into your computer's card reader.

    • 3

Open the card for viewing via the "My Computer" window. Copy the .bin files to the folder to which you extracted the Bin2Jpg files.

    • 4

Open the folder from Step 3, double click "bin2jpgall.bat" and wait for the files to convert. When they have finished, open the .jpg files to view them.
