How to Get the Second Controller to Work on a Wii System

The Nintendo Wii is a gaming console that was designed with movement in mind. Instead of traditional controllers, the Nintendo Wii controllers consist of a device known as a Wii remote (or Wiimote) that connects to the main Wii console invisibly. This allows you to be able to stand up or be in another part of the room without being tied down by wires.

Wii remote
2 AA batteries

Instructions

  Open the battery cover of the Wii remote you want to use as the second controller and insert the "AA" batteries.

  Turn on the Nintendo Wii console.

  Open the front cover (where the SD card goes).

  Press the red "Sync" button under the front cover. This tells the Wii to search for the Wii remote you want to use.

  Press the red "Sync" button in the battery cover to start the sync process. When the lights on the Wii controller stop flashing, the remote is synced.
