How to Connect the Wii Five Component Cable to My TV

As television technology has improved, so has the technology behind home video game consoles. The Wii is no exception. Like the other current generation home video game consoles, the Wii has the ability to output a progressive scan image. In order to output this type of image, you need a special type of cable. This cable has five connectors and uses component video.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the existing audio/video cable from the back of the Wii and the rear of the television.

    • 2

Plug the component cable into the audio/video jack of the Wii.

    • 3

Locate the three video cables on the component cable. These cables will be red, green and blue. Do not mistake the red video cable for the red audio cable.

    • 4

Plug the three component video cables into the unused video-in-in jacks on the rear of the television

    • 5

Plug the two composite audio cables into their respective audio-in jacks on the rear of the television.
