List of Games That Use the Wii Balance Board

The Wii Balance Board was first released with "Wii Fit" in May of 2008. The Wii system accessory has the ability to register when a user moves his or her body, adding to the interactive experience for Wii users. Since its December 2009 release, several other games have been released in America for the Wii that utilize the Wii Balance Board.
  1. "All-Star Cheer Squad"

    • Released by THQ in October 2008, this game follows a year in the life of a cheerleader. The Wii Balance Board is used to register cheers and dancing.

    "Punch-Out!!"

    • Released by Nintendo in May of 2009, "Punch-Out!!" follows a young boxer as he fights his way up the minor and professional ranks. The Wii Balance Board can be used here to register leg movement, and dodge an opponents punches.

    "Gold's Gym Cardio Workout"

    • Developed by Rocket Company and released in March of 2009. Like "Wii Fit," the board is used in exercise programs. The exercises in this game have a focus on "shape boxing" and the Wii Balance Board is utilized to this end.

    Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009

    • Developed by 3G Studios and published by Majesco in October of 2009. The balance board is used for the many exercise programs in this game, including jogging and yoga.

    "Mario &Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games"

    • A joint venture by Nintendo and Sega, this game was released in October of 2009. The Wii Balance Board is used for the various running and jumping Olympic events, such as skating, skiing and snowboarding.

    "Wii Music"

    • Released by Nintendo in October of 2008, this program allows gamers to create their own music. The board can be used to play the drums.

    "Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party"

    • Developed and distributed by Ubisoft in November 2008. The Wii Balance Board is used in the various running and dancing mini-games. Also referred to as "the only game you can play with your butt," as some games involve sitting on the board.

    "Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip"

    • Also made by Ubisoft and released in November of 2008, the Wii version of this game was built to accommodate the balance board and features a story involving former Olympic snowboarder Shaun White. The Wii Balance Board is used here as a snowboard.

    "Skate It"

    • Made by EA Montreal and released November 2008, this game follows the adventures of a skater in an abandoned city. The board can be used as a skateboard.

    "Wii Fit" and "Wii Fit Plus"

    • This first game to use the balance board, "Wii Fit" was released by Nintendo in May of 2008. Theboard is used for various exercise programs that involve leg movement. "Wii Fit Plus" has even more exercises that use the board.

    "We Ski &Snowboard"

    • This is a family-style snowboarding game, released by Namco Bandai in March of 2009. The Wii Balance Board is used as a ski platform and snowboard.
