NES
Among a list of 85 NES titles, you̵7;ll find the classic role playing game "Final Fantasy," in which players must fulfill a prophecy and save the world from darkness. "Mario Bros.," the first title in the biggest franchise of Nintendo̵7;s many hit games, finds Mario and Luigi navigate their way through the underground plumbing where all kinds of strange creatures try to stop them. Other popular choices include ̶0;Donkey Kong,̶1; ̶0;Kirby̵7;s Adventure̶1; and ̶0;The Legend of Zelda.̶1;
SNES and Nintendo 64
SNES and Nintendo 64 didn't produce as many hits as their predecessor, but they do provide some good games ready for download on your Wii.
From the SNES list, there̵7;s "Donkey Kong Country," in which Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong do battle with the Kremlings, a crazed reptilian tribe, and "Sim City," in which players start a town and build it into a city to see how big and complex it can become.
From the N64 list comes "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." This game, played in 3-D, reveals much of the genesis of the original game's aspects, such as the origin of the Triforce. In "Pokemon Puzzle League," players must use power, speed and their brains to make it through this puzzle game.
Sega Genesis and Sega Master System
The Sega game systems turned out plenty of hits that you can download onto the Wii.
Among the Sega Genesis games is "Altered Beast": Brought back to life by Zeus, players must rescue his daughter, Athena, from the underworld.
From Sega Master System, there̵7;s "R-Type," the shooter game where players use a gunship to blast their way through eight levels.
NEOGEO
The NEOGEO system, created in the '90s, garnered a cult following with a plethora of fighting games. For example, "Art of Fighting" launched the story of the Sakazaki family's battles with Mr. Big. Two sequels followed, one of which is available for download. "Fatal Fury," one of the longest-running titles in the fight-game genre, has players doing battle in numerous street-fighting settings.
TurboGrafx 16
TurboGrafx 16, a CD-ROM-based console, promised big things when it appeared in 1989, but in large part failed to produce. Nevertheless, the system had some good games that you can now play on the Wii. In "Bonk's Adventure," an action game on a side-scrolling model, players use Bonk's huge head to rattle the ground, stunning enemies as he makes his way through numerous challenging levels.
Commodore 64
Introduced in 1982, the home computer was hugely popular and produced many games, but only a few are available for the Wii. In "Boulder Dash," a classic puzzle game, Rockford digs through caves, avoiding creatures and falling rocks while collecting diamonds.
